The IRT Scoring and Graphing Tool is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that provides brute force theta estimates for a single examinee using item response theory (IRT). It is designed to aid in the teaching of IRT concepts, and is only available as one of the supplied materials for ASC's workshops.
Calculations provided by the program include:
Maximum likelihood estimation (MLE)
Bayesian modal estimation (MAP)
Bayesian expectation estimation (EAP)
Sequential probability ratio test (SPRT)
Generalized likelihood ratio (GLR).
The tool also provide graphs that update in real time, allowing the user to see what effect changes in item parameters and responses have on item response functions and the likelihood function.
